Free Range Squash

From a home garden in Ithaca.

These are my official squash plants. These represent my illusions of control over the vegetable garden.

Seeds of Change seeds, started by The Plantsmen
One little stinging nettle in the right background.

These are the ones that have taken matters into their own hands:

These are flourishing around the tomato plants.

Hugging the irrigation hose and competing with the leeks.

Cozying up to the infant basil and more tomatoes.

My thought is that I will leave them until the give me some flowers to stuff and fry and if they are crowding something I'll pull them. If the tomatoes are strong enough, perhaps these headstrong squashes will help keep the weeds down.
